Mavka

Mavkas are creatures in Ukrainian mythology, spirits of girls who had died unnatural tragic or premature deaths. Something like mermaids but live in the forest, also beautiful, yet dangerous to young men, whom they tinkle to death.

This illustration was abandoned by me for a few months. Lately I dug it out and finished (at least I call it finished despite that mess on a background XD). I thought of making a series of artworks with creatures from Ukrainian and slavic mythology
